Pre-order your
3lb Package of Italian Honey Bees
for the 2020 season

We are now working on negotiating pricing for 3lb Italian Honey Bee packages for the 2020 season. The more we can confirm orders for, the better discount I can negotiate from the suppliers.

It is better for the suppliers to have a guaranteed $**.** in hand instead of waiting until next year and to see what you can get for them.

Tennessee’s Honey Bees is now taking orders to reserve 3lb Italian Honey Bee Packages that will be available in Spring 0f 2020. Please be sure to place your order ahead of time in order to get the bees that you need; we will be selling a large amount of packages this spring, but we may or may not have any additional packages available on our pick up days.

What your 3lb Package of Italian Honey Bees will contain

The 3 pound package of Italian Honey Bees will come with a mated, unmarked young Italian Queen, marked queens can be gotten for a few dollars more. Your package will include a mixture of nurse bees, forager bees, guard bees and drones. The queen bee will be in a cage hanging within the 3lb Package of Italian Honey Bees. A can of syrup is also included to feed the 3lb Pack of Italian Honey Bees temporarily while they are in the cage. It can be used as the first feed you serve when you place them into a Hive or Nuc.

Italian Honey Bees are the most recommended because they are very gentle, easy to work with and are considered the best all-purpose Honey Bees. They build up their population early in the spring, and they are able to maintain high populations all summer because the queen lays a lot of eggs. This strong workforce will result in excellent honey production. Italian bees easily adapt to most climates, they overwinter well and they have good resistance to Varroa mites. They produce minimum propolis and keep a clean hive.

South Georgia 3lb Honey Bee Packages

The 3lb Packages of Honey Bees sold by Tennessee’s Honey Bees do come from the South Georgia area. The reason is that we know the suppliers in that area. Raising Italian Honey Bee packages is what they do.

Absconding: A package of honey bees has a high likelihood of absconding unless you block the entrance for a few days after the install. Sometimes, they even abscond if you follow this practice. We cannot warranty against this possibility. If you have questions about this, ask us!

We do not produce these packages, and are acting as the "middleman" to bring them to you. Because of this, we do not warranty them.

A package consists of approximately 3lbs of Honey Bees and includes a caged mated queen. A package is housed in a specially designed, well-ventilated screened cage that includes only adult honey bees, a queen, and a can of food syrup. The is no comb, eggs, brood or larvae included in these packages.

Though Tennessee's Honey Bees does not currently produce packages of its own, for the convenience of our customers, we supply a limited number of Italian Honey Bee packages that we can obtain from a few high-quality, reputable breeders in the Southern Georgia area.

When will the 3lb Packages of Honey Bees we purchase be ready for pickup?

You will be contacted to let you know of the pickup dates as soon as they are confirmed by our suppliers. We will strive to arrange it so that pickups will take place mid to late April 2020.
